Farmhand Houses

Refurbishing and replanning of a listed residential building.

The former home of a farmhand near Berlin was uninhabited for decades and was in a ruinous state. The parts of the building listed as landmarks were carefully renovated and optimized in terms of today’s needs as a living space. Two annexes were added to the main house that complement the spatial program of the dwellings and at the same time serve to zone private terrace areas. The historic stables were rebuilt as a studio building. The yard is a joint garden that can be used by all residents.
